Four School Food Drive Challenge Results
Frank J. Lamping elementary school PTA challenged its neighboring schools to a food drive challenge, to see who could raise the biggest food donation for Serving Our Kids Foundation..
November 18 through the 22nd. Lamping, Wallin, Wolff, and Glen Taylor elementary schools competed for the new Serving Our Kids Food Drive Challenge (SOK CUP) Trophy to see which school puts forth the most school spirit in raising food for needy children among other elementary schools in the Clark County School District.
WOW!!! What a tremendous effort by all four schools. The enthusiasm kicked off on Saturday November 16, when 9 students from the all 4 schools appeared with us on Channel 13 to tell our story. The excitement and enthusiasm that was built all week long in the voices of each school coordinator was amazing.
The results were as follows: Champion Glen Taylor ES $3667.04 producing enough food for 1128 weekend food bags 10,037 food items, Runner-Up Wolff ES $ 2879.23 886 weekend food bags 7,939 food items Wallin ES $ 2628.75 809 weekend food bags 7,398 food items and Lamping ES $ 2563.94 789 weekend food bags 7,032 food items Total results of all 4 schools $ 11,738.96 3,612 weekend food bags 32,406 food items All these schools are big WINNERS and deserve the THANKS!!!
